It’s just simple amiibonomics.
Just when I thought I was out of the amiibo game, Nintendo pulled me back. The newer amiibo are so much more detailed, and delightful, than the original releases, and they’re perfect collectibles for any video game fan. I don’t have all of them, but I do have a substantial, and growing, collection. If you’re like me, you struggle with amiibo addiction, but also, you still give in to it.
We’re still waiting on availability for the Super Smash Bros. versions of Pichu, Daisy, Ken, Simon Belmont, Richter Belmont, Chrom, and Dark Samus. The first wave of new amiibo, including Inkling Girl, Wolf, and Ridley, came out at the start of December. If you didn’t grab them, or the Octoling 3-pack, there’s still hope. The Octoling 3-pack is on Amazon and GameStop. You can also find Ridley in-stock at Amazon and GameStop. The Inkling Girl Smash Bros. amiibo is at GameStop, and you can grab the Wolf amiibo at Best Buy.
There are still a lot of characters that don’t yet have amiibo, like Solid Snake for example. That means if you’re amiibo-obsessed, there’s still plenty of waiting before you can own every amiibo. Hopefully these preorders will help tide you over until the next wave of amiibo announcements strike.
The next wave of Smash amiibo are almost here, and we’ve got the full scoop on where they’re available for preorder. If the retailer has a placeholder for the amiibo, I added that, too, with a note on its availability:
He’s the heavy hitter everyone wants to main, and his golden crown, bracelets, and rotund belly really help King K Roll dazzle on the battlefield.
I am stupidly excited about Piranha Plant coming to Super Smash Bros. and I can’t explain it. It’s just a plant that tries to eat passers-by. And yet, I await our Piranha Plant future with bated breath.
Absolutely one of the most adorable amiibo in the entire line-up. The original Ice Climbers game doesn’t hold up, at all, but they’re beloved Smash characters now, so we can all put the past behind us.
Obviously this isn’t a Smash Bros. series, but Shovel Knight was the first third-party amiibo, ever, and this is a fantastic 3-pack based on the Treasure Trove edition. If you haven’t played Shovel Knight, I’m almost envious of you, because you get to experience the raw joy of it for the first time.
