Tetsuya Nomura Responds To Kingdom Hearts III Leaks

By December 17, 2018 No Comments

The worst has happened. Kingdom Hearts III has been leaked (allegedly, copies of the game were stolen) and now the whole shebang is out there in the wild.

Apparently, around 30 copies were leaked, with a number of players posting parts of the game onto social media platforms like Facebook before they were promptly taken down. Square Enix is clearly aware of this and is working to solve the problem. Luckily, there is one big consolation that should put your mind at ease if you’re a superfan.

Kingdom Hearts III director Tetsuya Nomura put out a response to the leaks on Twitter through the main Kingdom Hearts account. In the statement, Nomura asks fans not to share the videos and assures that the team has been working to resolve the issue.

It was also revealed that Kingdom Hearts III’s epilogue and secret movie will not be on the disk, meaning they will probably be added upon launch, a necessary precaution that was clearly a worthwhile choice given the current situation. This means that the game’s biggest spoilers aren’t actually in the game yet.

Nomura also noted that the team is very grateful for fans who are warning others about the leaks, and urged them to “enjoy the game together” when it finally drops next month.

So, if you’re a fan, it’s probably best to go dark now and set up your muted words on Twitter. Then, we can all share the magic when Kingdom Hearts III drops on January 29, 2019 for Xbox One and PS4.
